I want you doing your Thing. Doing what you are brilliant at and not just what you are good at.
But what I want more than that is for you to be a Master. For you to do your Thing so much and so often and so well that you are a Master of it—a true expert—experienced, confident and truly 'there' with your Thing knowing it's what you do that's brilliant.
It's been said (by Malcolm Gladwell in his book Outliers) that if you do something for 10,000 hours then you are an expert at it. Now you may well have been doing your Thing for 10,000 hours and not realised it. Afterall, your Thing is something you do unconsciously—without noticing it most of the time. I had certainly been doing my Thing without calling it that for years. So I had racked up a good few thousand hours I am sure.
The difference is that NOW you know your Thing, that you consciously choose to be a Master at it. I devour books, go to seminars, learn more about how I can help other entrepreneurs and brilliant people do their Thing better, and do it as a business.
It's not enough to know, it's imperative that you DO.
Like I always say - there's no point knowing you're amazing and then sitting at home on your own being amazing. You need to get out there are DO your Thing. BE a business celebrity. Do, practice, improve, learn and master your Thing.
You are already brilliant at your Thing (because you just are) but that doesn't mean you can't get better.
When you realise what more is possible when you do your Thing then you can charge more for it as it's value increases as your Mastery does.
Learning is a huge priority for me in life and my business and I am always learning. Sometimes the Mastery is obvious—you train, you practice you go and actively learn—but very often Mastery comes from doing. Do your Thing over and over. Do it as often as you can and you'll BE that expert.
I want you to stand out and get famous for doing your Thing, and this is down in a large part to marketing & message, but without Mastery then you can't do your Thing in the biggest way possible. And big really IS best.
Enjoy taking the time to do your Thing—it's all part of the Master plan.
