It’s funny, there’s so much ‘FOMO’ that goes on in business. (FOMO is Fear of Missing Out by the way). Sometimes we FOMO that everyone else is going to be at an event, or is making an offer this Black Friday, or is getting their newsletter done every week, or spending 100 hours on Facebook, or networking non-stop. There’s no end to FOMO if you let it take over.

What’s your measure?

There’s plenty of measures you can measure in your business. And only one of them is money. And, in fact, if you’re smart you actually know that it’s never about ‘the money’, it’s about profit which is the money left over after you’ve paid for everything else. So for sure, measure your profit (and make sure you have some!) if you want to see how your business is doing.

If you’re not excited, it’s probably not your Thing…

There are some things that I don’t wake up in the morning **dying to do**: spreadsheets, for example (not my first choice in expressing myself). But when I know I’m doing my Thing, or working on a Thing that I know is a great Thing, I’ll be excited about them, and if my excitement extends as far as a spreadsheet, I know I must be onto something brilliant.

Strictly Business

I don’t mind admitting it. I am a HUGE Strictly Come Dancing Fan (Dancing with the Stars if you’re reading this outside the UK). Obviously I am sure you appreciate that I love the sparkles and the spotlights (of course!) but what I love the most is the dedication and the trust that you see.

Every one of the celebrities is already doing their Thing (and up to the point of starting the series that Thing isn’t ballroom dancing, and for some – let’s be honest – it never will be!) but everyone is willing to give dancing a go and be a beginner.
