Uphill Struggle or Downhill Slalom?

We can all climb a mountain if we put our minds to it (and backs into it) BUT sometimes, surely, it makes sense to take the cable car? I mean it’s there… would seem silly not to use it. And sometimes in business (and life!) even though there’s a cable car up our mountain, we either don’t see it OR choose not to use it. Are we mad?

When it all gets too much

I’m not a robot.

I can’t work non-stop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (although sometimes I do think this would be super handy–like the week before an event I’m running!).

And sometimes, of course, it all gets too much.

Doing your Thing too much can make you question if your Thing really is your Thing as it’s all getting ‘too hard’. Don’t let it be like that.

Start big, sell small

This is something I encourage when working with clients who find the concept of ‘upselling’ somewhat icky. It’s actually something I encourage even if they like selling, as for me it’s sensible and smart, and sets out your full Thing (even if then people choose to buy less of it).

Be very specific

What’s important to you might make all the difference to you doing your Thing. But if it’s the difference between your Thing and someone else’s you need to be specific about and tell us what that is, otherwise it will get lost in ‘assumption’.

What a waste! A marketing fail not to repeat

I am not saying you need to run a 24-hour business—that’s why websites were invented after all—but let us know in any advertising if you’re not going to be open and don’t waste our time. Have your opening hours for phone calls in your ad OR point us only to your website (and let us know what we can do there).
