It’s a Goal!

My immediate answer to overwhelm is a goal—a very focused, totally connected smaller part of a bigger vision, goal. And a stretchy one too. The numbers I always set myself are never super-comfy but they’re not ludicrous either. If the goal is too far out of reach I know what I’m like—I won’t even bother!

Don’t believe the Hype

The Hype often tells us ‘this is easy’ and this is ‘simple’ and that is very probably true for the person saying it.

I, for example, find it very easy to write copy, set up web pages and run webinars, etc. For some people (and I talk to them every day), even one of those things seems impossible :)

So don’t always believe the Hype ;)

The 3 Stages of Selling

For me there are 3 stages to ‘selling’. Now, don’t think I am about to launch into a “How to close in 3 easy steps” guide here–so not my Thing when it comes to sales. What I am talking about instead is the 3 stages people (by people, I mean ‘prospects’ if we’re doing sales speak) go through when they are buying.

I can’t be bothered being anyone other than me.

Talk about hard work.

But I still catch myself changing my tone, or coming over all ‘marketing’ sometimes. And I think WHOA what is that all about? Why am I being someone else when I do my marketing, or start talking about my Thing.

Waaaaay too much like hard work keeping that up.
