How to handle the NOISE!

Sometimes it can get very noisy—noisy in your inbox, noisy in your head, noisy in your market, noisy in your office, noise noise noise.

Now some of this noise is very real—but some of it can be easily silenced.

And I don’t just mean taking a holiday and ignoring it all—that’s only a good short term solution… long term it’s probably going to be bad for business!

Follow the herd, or not, or don’t even leave the house

It’s funny, there’s so much ‘FOMO’ that goes on in business. (FOMO is Fear of Missing Out by the way). Sometimes we FOMO that everyone else is going to be at an event, or is making an offer this Black Friday, or is getting their newsletter done every week, or spending 100 hours on Facebook, or networking non-stop. There’s no end to FOMO if you let it take over.

Help yourself, the buffet’s open

Someone has to go first, and being overly polite about it might mean you miss out whilst it’s hot, or at least stay hungry for a bit longer. So let’s all tuck in.

The buffet IS open and there is enough for everyone. Of course, now I am not talking about food… I am talking about the market and there being plenty of work for everyone to tuck in to. But you have to go get your food to be able to eat it.

Stick to your knitting

I love this phrase—it’s a great way to say ‘Stay true to your Thing’. If you want to get famous for your Thing, keep doing it—consistently. If you change your Thing every 5 minutes it’s going to be hard for us to keep tabs on exactly what it is!
